Questions about the Word Counter?
Is my text uploaded or saved?
- No. The counter runs in your browser. Your text is not uploaded to a server or saved after you leave the page.
How is reading time estimated?
- The estimate uses 200 words per minute and rounds up to the next whole minute. Empty text shows zero minutes.
What counts as a word?
- Sequences of letters or numbers count as words. Apostrophes and hyphens inside a word stay with that word.
Can I count text in other languages?
- Yes. The counter supports Unicode letters, so you can paste text in many languages.
Can I export the statistics?
- The current version shows the live statistics in the browser. You can copy the original text and use the counts while editing your document.
