Questions about the Placeholder Image Generator?
Are the sizes in pixels?
- Yes. Width and height are pixels, from 16 to 3000. A common starting point is 1200 × 630, which matches many social and hero slots.
What file do I download?
- Download PNG saves a PNG at the exact width and height you set. The filename looks like placeholder-1200x630.png. This first version does not export SVG or JPEG.
How do I use it in web design?
- Put the PNG in a mockup, wireframe, or unfinished page where the real photo is not ready. It holds the space so you can judge layout, crop, and color before the final asset arrives.
Can I add my own text or hide it?
- Yes. Leave the field empty to show the current size, such as 1200 × 630. Type a short caption of up to 100 characters, including Turkish or Japanese. Turn off Show text to download a solid color image.
Is anything I enter stored?
- No. The image is drawn in your browser. Sizes, colors, and text are not saved on our servers, sent to an analytics event, or passed to an external API.
